Training for Health Equity Network:THEnet
Björg Pálsdóttir is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at THEnet: Training for Health Equity Network. THEnet is a global partnership of health workforce education institutions committed to reducing health inequities and increasing schools’ social accountability. She has helped develop THEnet’s collaborative research, capacity development, evaluation and advocacy efforts. Ms. Pálsdóttir served on the committee developing recommendation on transformative education for the WHO’S Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health, is the Team Lead for the WHO’s Global Health Workforce Network’s Technical Working Group on Equity within the Health Workforce Data and Evidence Hub and led the writing a policy brief on “Enabling Universal Health Coverage and Empowering Communities through Socially Accountable Workforce Education" in 2016 for the United Nations High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Development. She is a member of the National Academies Health and Medicine Division’s Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education and chairs its Innovation Collaborative on Learning through Community Engagement.
